Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of tannin part of Tibetan medicine Phyllanthus emblica on the migration and invasion of human fibrosarcoma cells HT1080. Methods MTT assay was performed to detect the inhibitory effect of tannin part of Phyllanthus emblica of different concentrations on proliferation of HT1080 cells. Wound-healing scrape assay and Transwell invasion assay were performed to assess the effect of tannin part on the migration and invasive properties of HT1080 in vitro. Results Tannin part of Phyllanthus emblica significantly inhibited the proliferation of HT1080 cells after 48 hours treatment, the median inhibitory concentration(IC50) was 0.174g·L-1. Compared with the control group, tannin part of emblica group of 0.1g·L-1 concentration significantly reduced the migration areas of HT1080 cells. The number of invasive transmembrane cells was decreased significantly in 0.025g·L-1 tannin part group. Conclusion Tannin part of Phyllanthus emblica could inhibit migration and invasion of human fibrosarcoma cells in vitro.
