Literature Analysis of 151 Cases of Adverse Drug Reactions Induced by Metoclopramide

Abstract: Objective To provide technical support for safe and rational use of drugs in clinic by investigating the characteristics and mechanism of adverse reactions induced by metoclopramide. Methods 'Metoclopramide', 'adverse reaction' and 'to' were used as key words to search and retrieve articles in the Wanfang database, CNKI database and VIP Chinese full-text database. 34 references which met the inclusion criteria were extracted and analyzed. Results 151 cases were extracted. Adverse reactions mainly occurred in children. Majority of indications were vomiting. ADRs occurred more frequently within 1h. Systems-organs mainly involved in adverse reactions were systemic disorders, skin and its accessory disorders and gastrointestinal disorders etc. Extrapyramidal reactions were the most commonly reported adverse reactions. It can cause serious adverse reactions such as anaphylactic shock and even death. Conclusion It is important to pay attention to the adverse reactions caused by metoclopramide, pay attention to extrapy ramidal reactions and strengthen clinical rational use of drug, so as to ensure the safe drug use in clinic.
