Study on the Effect of Ethanol Extract of Xigui on Anti-dysmenorrhea

Abstract

Abstract: Objective Preliminary to study the action of anti-dysmenorrhea of Xigui. Methods Record the effect of excitatory action which is caused by the spontaneous activity of uterine smooth muscle strips and the oxytocin through BL-410 system and study its effect to writhing response of mice which is caused by acetic acid and oxytocin, evaluate the anti-dysmenorrhea action of Xigui. Results Xigui can significantly reduce the frequency, amplitude, area and duration of uterine smooth muscle systolic wave of rats, meanwhile, it can significantly restrain the excitatory action of uterine smooth muscle which is induced by the oxytocin(P<0.05 or P<0.01). It also can significantly reduce the times of writhing response which is caused by acetic acid and oxytocin(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Xigui has the functions of anti-dysmenorrhea.
