Literature Review of 38 Adverse Reaction Cases Induced by Compound Tropicamide Eye Drops

Abstract: Objective Through investigating the characteristics and mechanism of adverse reactions induced by compound tropicamide eye drops, to find its risk factors and provide technical support for safe and rational use of drugs in clinic. Methods Using "compound tropicamide eye drops", "adverse reaction" and "caused by" as key words to retrieve articles in the CNKI database. Nineteen references which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were extracted and analyzed. Results Children, middle-aged and old patients appear to have higher ADR occurrence rate by using compound tropicamide eye drops. Systems and organs mainly involved in adverse reactions are eye, skin and its appendages, sys temic damage, cardiovascular damage, and etc. An allergic reaction, blepharitis, heart palpitations are the most common reported adverse reactions. Conclusion It is important to pay attention to the adverse reactions caused by compound tropicamide eye drops, specially to strengthen middle-aged and old patients postmarketing surveillance, in order to prevent adverse drug reactions and ensure the safe drug use in clinic.
