Case Analysis and Pharmaceutical Care of Drug Fever Induced by Cefoperazone/Sulbactam for Perioperative Patient in Department of Orthopedics

Abstract: Objective To investigate the role of the clinical pharmacist in the treatment of patients with dug fever induced by cefoperazone sulbactam and the focus of pharmaceutical care. Methods We analyzed the related literatures and typical case of drug fever induced by cefoperazone sulbactam occurred in our hospital. Results Considering that the causes of high fever could not be explained by infection, absorption heat and venous thrombosis of lower extremity, the intravenous drip of cefoperazone sulbactam was stopped, temperature of the patient returned to normal 5 days later. Conclusion If clincal pharmacists participate in the treatment of drug fever, it can help to judge patients' condition accurately, avoid misdiagnosis, mistreatment and wasting medical resources, and improve rational use of antimicrobial drugs.
