Abstract: Objective To analyze such severe adverse reactions as acute drug-induced liver injury caused by vancomycin hydrochloride. Methods One case of liver injury after craniocerebral surgery was investigated. The cause of liver injury was identified by analyzing the diagnosis and treatment of the patient, and the suspected drug was evaluated by the RUCAM scale. Results The significantly elevated transaminase level in this patient might have been related to vancomycin, which was considered to have caused the acute drug-induced liver injury. Conclusion When using vancomycin, physicians and pharmacists should pay attention to the liver function and renal function of patients. In case of liver injury, they should be alert to the serious adverse reactions caused by vancomycin.
