Safety Evaluation and Rational Use of Internal Application of OTC Chinese Patent Medicines for Orthopedics

Abstract: Internal application of Chinese patent medicines plays an important role in the treatment of orthopedic diseases. However, more attention is needed to this category of medicine that is over the counter(OTC) to maximize the therapeutic effects and minimize medication risk. This article summarizes risk characteristics and the relevant factors by analysis of the typical safety case reports and put forward the strategy of promoting rational use and reducing medication risk.
