Advancements in Treating Ischemic Stroke with Chinese Medicine Compounds Formulae

Abstract

Abstract: Objective To examine findings related to the applications of TCM compound formulae in the management of ischemic stroke, and to offer data for subsequent clinical and experimental investigations. Methods By searching China Knowledge Network and PubMed for articles published from the inception to October 20, 2024, TCM compound formulae were summarized and evaluated. Results Clinical investigations indicated that TCM compound formulae, including Buyang Huanwu Tang, Xinglou Chengqi Tang, and Taohong Siwu Tang, exhibited substantial therapeutic efficacy in patients with ischemic stroke. Conclusion TCM compound formulae possess considerable benefits in the management of ischemic stroke. However, investigations are comparatively limited, and there is a lack of clinical studies and large-scale trials. Multi-sample and high-quality clinical studies are lacking.
