Abstract: This paper reveals formation of the borderline discipline of biomechanopharmacology from the multi-targeted biological effects of shear stress. It reviews the recent biomechanopharmacological studies of herbs with activating blood circulation and removing thrombosis effects, together with such studies of compounds with anti-platelets aggregation effects. We are looking forward to screening Chinese herbs through mechanical ion channel activator or inhibitor by means of biomechanopharmacology.

Key words: biomechanopharmacology, shear stress, anti-platelets aggregation
