Guide to Authors

  • I. Register as an author
    (i) Registration for first-time submission
          Log on to the website of the Chinese Journal of Chinese Pharmacovigilance (zgywjj.magtechjournal.com), click on "Online Submission by Authors" and enter the login interface.
          Click "Register", read and agree to abide by the journal's submission instructions, then submit your information as required on the page and register as an author.
          If your email address is displayed when registering, it means your information is already in the editorial system, please click "Retrieve Password" and follow the instructions on the page to retrieve your account.

    (ii) Reviewers and editorial board members do not need to register
          Journal self-nominated reviewers, employed reviewers and editorial board members do not need to register again, they can login to the submission page with their original username and password.

    II. Manuscript Submission Process
    (i) Login to the editorial system
          In the login screen, fill in your username and password and click "Login" to enter the author's work desktop.
          Click on "Modify personal information" to modify your username, password, contact information, research direction and other content.
          The latest information on your manuscript is displayed in the "Author Desktop - Manuscripts you can work on" section.

    (ii) Manuscript Submission
          In the Author Desktop, click on "Wizard Submission" and fill in the information as required on the page to complete the submission.
          When submitting a manuscript, you can add more authors in the author field, enter the author's name or email address to retrieve existing authors in the system, or register and add new authors. Unless otherwise stated, only the first author and corresponding author will be contacted by the editorial team for subsequent revisions of the manuscript.

    (iii) Splitting the manuscript and generating a manuscript number
          The first author and corresponding author will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of the manuscript with the manuscript number in the mail within 3 working days.

    (iv) Preliminary review
          After the first review, the first author and the corresponding author will receive the "Manuscript Return Receipt Form" by email if the manuscript needs to be revised. After receiving the rejection email, the author must revise the manuscript within 15 working days.
          Log in to the editorial system and click on "Incomplete" on the "Author's Desktop - Manuscripts Requiring Your Action" page.
          Under "Revision Requests", review the revisions and download the editor's uploaded revisions (if any) and, based on the revisions, do the following:
          1. Make changes to the manuscript
          2. Click on "Correct manuscript information and upload changes" to upload changes
          3. Compare the corrections one by one and write a revision note
          4. Submit
          After successful submission, the manuscript will be displayed in "Author's Desktop - Manuscripts that require your action - Completed".
          If the manuscript does not pass the revision process, the manuscript will be returned again and the revision process will remain unchanged until the manuscript is approved for review (internal).

    (v) Review (internal)
          After the review (internal), for manuscripts that need to be revised by the authors, the first author and the corresponding author will receive a Manuscript Return Notification Form by email, and the process of revising the manuscript by the authors will remain unchanged; for manuscripts that do not meet the acceptance criteria of the journal, the first author and the corresponding author will receive a Manuscript Return Notification Form by email.

    (vi) External review
          After the external review, the first author and corresponding author will receive the "Manuscript Revision Notification Form" by email for manuscripts that need to be revised by the author, and the process of revising manuscripts by the author will remain unchanged.
          After the manuscript has been revised and re-examined or re-externally reviewed, the manuscript will be returned for revision again for those manuscripts that have not passed the revision, and the process of revising the manuscript will remain unchanged until the manuscript has been reviewed and submitted for editorial processing.

    (vii) Editorial processing
          For manuscripts that need to be revised by the author during editorial processing, the first author and the corresponding author will receive a Manuscript Return Notice by email, and the process of revising the manuscript by the author remains unchanged.
          For manuscripts that have not passed the revision process, the manuscript will be returned for revision again and the revision process will remain unchanged until the manuscript is approved for final review.

    (viii) Final review
          After final review, the first author and corresponding author will receive the "Notice of Publication Fee Payment" by email for manuscripts that meet the formal acceptance criteria of the journal; the first author and corresponding author will receive the "Manuscript Return Notice" by email for manuscripts that require revision by the author, and the process of revision by the author will remain unchanged; the first author and corresponding author will receive the "Return Notice" by email for manuscripts that do not meet the acceptance criteria of the journal.

    (ix) Payment of publication fee
          After receiving the "Notification of Payment of Publication Fee" email, authors should make remittance within 10 working days according to the information provided in the email.
          The website is regularly updated with the payment status and this information will be displayed in the "Manuscript details - Cost of this article".
          If you wish to issue an invoice, you must fill in the invoice information in the editorial system and the invoice will be issued after the finance department has confirmed receipt.

    (x) Group edition
          Manuscripts that have been sent and paid the publication fee will be arranged for publication according to the chronological order of receipt and the needs of the column layout.

    (xi) Typesetting
          The first author and corresponding author will receive the final version of the manuscript and the fee registration form by email from the editorial office after the current issue has been proofread.

    (xii) Publication
          Upon publication of the manuscript, the first author will receive 2 paper copies of the current issue of the journal and receive payment for the manuscript. A discretionary fee will be paid upon publication of the manuscript. The journal has been added to the CD-ROM version, online version and related databases of China Knowledge Network (CNKI). The author's copyright royalty is paid in a lump sum with the journal fee.

    III. Other Notes
    (i) Please do not submit two manuscripts
          All submissions should ensure that there is no double submission, no confidentiality, and no dispute over the signature of the manuscript. Once a manuscript is accepted, a notice of acceptance will be sent. Upon acceptance, the journal automatically acknowledges the exclusive right to use the paper and has no objection to the publication of the paper in other formats such as electronic journals or CD-ROM editions, and no part of the paper may be reproduced elsewhere without the consent of the journal. 

    (ii) All submissions are under your own responsibility
          In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Copyright Law, the Journal may make textual amendments and abridgements to submissions, and any amendments involving the original intent shall be submitted to the author for consideration.

    (iii) Handling of unreturned manuscripts after the time limit
          If a manuscript is returned after a serious time lapse, or if the same manuscript is returned three times after a single review, and the author still does not return the manuscript as required, the manuscript will be treated as a new manuscript after the editorial team has failed to communicate with the author.
