Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and potential immunologic mechanisms associated with rashes induced by chiglitazar sodium tablets in order to provide a reference for safe medication. Methods The clinical data of a patient who had developed a rash following the administration of chiglitazar sodium was retrospectively analyzed. Causality was evaluated using the Naranjo Adverse Drug Reaction Probability Scale, and related literature was reviewed to explore possible immune mechanisms and treatment strategies. Results The patient presented with a rash the day chiglitazar sodium tablets were administrated, which progressed to a generalized rash across the body within six days. Symptoms were resolved within 48 hours of drug discontinuation. The Naranjo score was 6, indicating a “probable” association with the drug. Literature suggested that this type of rash might be linked to immune mechanisms. Treatment involved drug discontinuation, and the prognosis was favorable following symptomatic management. Conclusion Chiglitazar sodium tablets carry the risk of inducing rashes, so enhanced clinical monitoring and early identification are recommended. Upon the onset of a rash, immediate discontinuation of the drug and prompt intervention are essential to safe medication.
