Abstract: Objective To explore ways to treat Stevens Johnson syndrome induced by lamotrigine. Methods The diagnosis and treatment of one case of Stevens Johnson syndrome induced by lamotrigine was analyzed. The mechanism by which lamotrigine induced Stevens Johnson syndrome was discussed in combination with literature. Results The patient was diagnosed with Stevens Johnson syndrome on the 55th day he took lamotrigine. The drug was stopped immediately. His condition gradually improved after the treatment with intravenous methylprednisolone sodium succinate. Skin rash was significantly improved, and itching disappeared on the 19th day of withdrawal. Conclusion The use of lamotrigine should be stopped immediately should Stevens Johnson syndrome occur. Glucocorticoid and other drugs should be given as symptomatic treatment.
